Jasper businesses have all been impacted by the Jasper Wildfire Complex. We know business owners are facing many challenges and tremendous uncertainty. Here are some resources and supports available:

Insurance Information

• The Insurance Bureau of Canada has a number of answers for frequently asked questions.
• Insurance representatives are also available at the Re-Entry Support Centre in Commemoration Park, and business owners are welcome to ask them your questions. 

Cleaning and Re-Opening

• Alberta Health Services has prepared a document that walks you through re-opening businesses after a wildfire. Jasper Wildfire 2024 - Reopening Buildings, Homes, and Businesses After a Wildfire (albertahealthservices.ca) 
• Starting Monday, August 19, a hotel's employees and third party contractors who are on-site to assist with cleaning and restoration activities may stay overnight at the property they are working on. 

Wages & Employees

• If your employees are eligible for Employment Insurance, encourage them to apply.
• For employers with Temporary Foreign Workers, the Government of Canada has information here.

Community Futures West Yellowhead

• Business coaching is available at the Re-Entry Support Centre in Commemoration Park daily from 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. and at the office in Hinton Monday to Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 
• Re-entry and re-opening tools and checklists are available on request. 
• There is a free, co-working space at the Hinton office available for Jasper business owners. 
• More information on financial programs will come in the next few weeks.

• Community Outreach Services is actively working on resumption of services out of 627 Patricia Street.
