Traffic and Utilities

As recovery efforts progress, services are being actively restored. However, the wildfire has affected infrastructure within the townsite, and recovery activities may lead to temporary service interruptions. We will continue to provide updates in the categories below.

September 13 - 20, 2024 - Temporary Road Closure on Connaught Drive

Starting Friday, September 13, Connaught Drive will be closed approximately 50 meters north and south of the Bonhomme Street intersection to accommodate critical utility work related to wildfire recovery. The closure will remain in effect until September 20, 2024, with work occurring from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.

  • Reason for Closure: Borehole drilling for the restoration of electrical lines.
  • Traffic Impact: Lane closure only; no detour required.
  • Pedestrian Safety: The work zone will be fenced off to ensure pedestrian safety, and signage will be in place to direct traffic.
  • Emergency Access: Emergency vehicles will be given priority and allowed to pass through the work zone.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation.

Some areas in town remain under a boil advisory until water is tested. Alberta Health Services posts up-to-date information on the Boil Water Advisory for parts of Jasper.

Potable water stations remain available for public use. These stations have all been tested by AHS and are being checked daily. Bring your own container to fill. Please do not fill RV tanks directly at these stations. Use smaller containers if you require water in your RV.

The stations are located at:

  • Bonhomme Street and Maligne Avenue
  • On Spruce Avenue and Patricia Street (between the 700 and 800 block)
  • On the 1000 block of Patricia Street in front of the Cabin Creek Condos (walk-downs)
