Commerce Continuity Initiative

The Commerce Continuity Initiative (CCI) is a strategic, multi-pronged program developed to safeguard Jasper’s economic stability in the aftermath of the 2024 wildfire. By providing temporary infrastructure and coordinated support for displaced businesses, trades, and recovery partners, the CCI ensures that the town’s commercial and industrial core remains functional. It enables essential services to operate, supports local employment, and lays the groundwork for a resilient and efficient rebuild.

There are 3 programs within the CCI:

  • Jasper Pop-Up Village
  • Interim Industrial Park
  • Laydown Areas

Jasper Pop-Up Village

The Jasper Pop-Up Village is a temporary marketplace providing essential retail space for businesses that lost commercial space in the 2024 wildfire. It offers serviced lots for small modular units or seacans, enabling affected businesses to resume operations, retain staff, and continue serving the community until their permanent locations are rebuilt.

Businesses participating include:

Interim Industrial Park

The Interim Industrial Park provides secure, serviced lots for local contractors and service providers displaced by the wildfire. It enables them to resume operations, retain staff, and support Jasper’s rebuild by storing materials and running workshops and offices—helping keep vital services local and costs down.

If you lost commercial floor area in the storage and services district (S-Block) in the 2024 Jasper Wildfire and need space, contact JRCCinfo@jasper-alberta.ca

Laydown Areas

Laydown areas and coordinated use of public space support the logistical needs of rebuilding by providing contractors with access to designated zones for materials and equipment storage. This strategy ensures that public areas remain safe and accessible while keeping reconstruction organized and on schedule.
