Need Help? Pathfinders Are Here for You
If you’re feeling overwhelmed or not sure where to turn, Jasper’s Pathfinders are here to help. Pathfinders are local volunteers who are trained to support people in our community, whether you just need someone to talk to or help finding the right services or resources. You don’t have to face challenges alone.
What is a Pathfinder?
A Pathfinder is a caring community member who has training and tools to support others during Jasper’s recovery. They’re not counselors or therapists, but they know how to help people through the many challenges of recovery, from managing stress and uncertainty to navigating rebuild processes. Pathfinders are committed to supporting their neighbours and helping guide them to the right resources.
How Can They Help Me?
- Listen and talk with you when you need support
- Help you figure out what services or programs might be right for you
- Connect you to resources and supports related to rebuilding
- Meet for a walk or coffee
- Offer friendly encouragement and check in on you
Pathfinders are easy to spot—they wear backpacks and clothing with the Pathfinder logo, so you know who they are.
Why Should I Reach Out?
Everyone goes through hard times. Jasper’s recovery is complicated and tough. Pathfinders are here to make sure you don’t have to go through it alone. Whether it’s stress, questions about rebuilding, or just needing a friendly ear, a Pathfinder can help lighten the load.
How Do I Find a Pathfinder?
- Stop and talk to a Pathfinder when you see them around town.
- Look for a Pathfinder at work or among your peers
It’s free, friendly, and open to anyone in Jasper who needs a little extra support.
Who Runs the Program?
The Pathfinders program was started by a group of local organizations working together to help with Jasper’s recovery. It’s coordinated by the Jasper Recovery Coordination Centre and supported by the Municipality of Jasper, Parks Canada, Recovery Alberta and other organizations that make up the Social Recovery Working Group.
