Canada Day in Jasper is an opportunity to gather as a community, celebrate together, and reflect on the stories, cultures, histories, and relationships that shape this place.
As we continue rebuilding and reconnecting following the 2024 wildfire, Canada Day 2026 aims to:
- Create welcoming spaces for residents and visitors
- Celebrate community spirit
- Honour Indigenous cultures, histories, and ongoing presence
- Support local artists, businesses, and organizations
- Encourage inclusion, belonging, and accessibility
- Foster respectful community connection
This event is intended to reflect both celebration and reflection: honouring the truth of Canada’s history while imagining a stronger future together.
The 2026 Canada Day Planning Committee is lead by the Municipality of Jasper in collaboration with individual residents and representatives from Parks Canada, the Jasper Yellowhead Museum and Archives as well as Indigenous partner nations.
You can contact the committee or apply to join the committee by emailing: canadaday@jasper-alberta.ca

Help Decorate the Town
This Canada Day, we invite local businesses, organizations, and residents to help fill Jasper with colour, connection, and community spirit.
Alongside traditional red and white decorations, we encourage the community to include orange hearts and orange elements as a symbol of our shared commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
Whether it’s a decorated storefront, window display, patio, office, or community space, every contribution helps create a welcoming and meaningful celebration throughout the community.
Together, we can create a Canada Day that reflects both celebration and reflection — honouring where we’ve come from, acknowledging the truths of our shared history, and imagining a stronger future together.
