Busking Licence
Busking is allowed in select locations within the townsite. All information about busking in Jasper can be found on the Habitat for the Arts website.
Pet Licence
Pet licence information, as well as questions and information about owning a pet in Jasper, can be found on the Pets in Jasper page.

Please read activity and permit details carefully. Activities may require more than one permit application and extra documentation. Some activities may also require permits from Parks Canada.

Event Permit
Event Permits are required for special events, such as parades, farmers markets, and community events.
Events on streets, sidewalks or parking lots: Complete the Event Permit Application below.
Events in a Municipal facility or park:
- Book the location through Municipality of Jasper - Facility Rentals.
- If you plan to use an adjacent street, sidewalk or parking lot, you will also need a Street and Public Space Use Permit.
Events outside the Jasper townsite: Apply for a Parks Canada Special Event Licence.
Please read the application carefully. Depending on the activities at your event, you will need to submit additional documents with the completed application form.

Application Form and Timeline
The completed Event Permit Application (PDF) and supporting documents can be submitted by email to townplanning@jasper-alberta.ca. Your application must be received at least sixty (60) days prior to your event start date.
Permit Fees
Permit fees have been established by the Municipal Council through both Bylaw #260: Rules and Fees Bylaw 2024 and a refined public-space fee structure designed to support rebuild (the decision and supporting details can be found in the official agenda and minutes of Committee of the Whole meeting of May 13, 2025).
Applicable fees will be provided to you in the form of an invoice(s) that must be paid prior to permit validation.

- Jasper charitable and not-for-profit organizations
- Any other application deemed by the CAO or his designate to be exempt

Filming Permit
Filming Permits are required only if you want to use public space and obstruct the normal use of the street or public area.
Commercial filming on streets, sidewalks or parking lots:
- Complete the Filming Permit Application below for projects that will obstruct the normal use of the street or public area.
- No permit needed for small filming projects that do not obstruct public space.
Commercial filming in a Municipal facility or park:
- Book the location through Municipality of Jasper - Facility Rentals.
- If you plan to use an adjacent street, sidewalk or parking lot, you will also need a Street and Public Space Use Permit.
Commercial filming outside the Jasper townsite: Apply Parks Canada permission. Parks Canada filming regulations and application information can be found on their website:
