Pop-Up Village

The Jasper Pop-Up Village is a temporary marketplace for businesses affected by the 2024 wildfire. It gives them a place to operate while their permanent locations are being rebuilt. The Village offers lots with power and water for small modular units, trailers, or shipping containers. This helps businesses reopen quickly, keep staff working, and serve the community.

Businesses participating include:

Pop-up Village Eligibility Criteria:

To qualify for participation in the Retail Pop-Up Village, businesses must meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Displacement Due to Wildfire: Per the Letter of Forbearance with Parks Canada, businesses must have lost access to a leased or sub-leased commercial space within the Jasper National Park as a direct result of the 2024 Jasper Wildfire.

  2.  Licensing Requirements: Business must have held the active required business licenses with either the Municipality of Jasper and/or Parks Canada, as of July 22, 2024.

  3. Business Type and Operation: Priority will be given to retail, service, and artisan businesses that directly serve residents and visitors. For commercial space for alternative types of business operations, please see our business supports options listed under "Commerce Continuity Initiative".

*Recognizing the complexity of recovery efforts, the Municipality of Jasper is committed to a fair and human-centered approach. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis for businesses that continue to align with the project’s core mission of supporting businesses that lost access to commercial space due to the wildfire and are taking innovative steps to remain operational during the rebuild phase. Such exceptions will be assessed with transparency and in alignment with recovery goals and land-use constraints.
