Eligibility Criteria
The site is intended for local contractors, service providers, and trades who:
- Displacement due to Wildfire: Per the Letter of Forbearance with Parks Canada, businesses must have lost access to a leased or sub-leased commercial space within the Jasper National Park as a direct result of the 2024 Jasper Wildfire. Eligibility is tied to loss of commercial space due to the wildfire. Once your permanent commercial space is re‑established, program eligibility ends.
- Previously operated in the Storage & Services District (S‑Block)
To qualify for a lot at the Interim Industrial Park, applicants must meet all of the following:
- Displacement due to the 2024 Jasper Wildfire
Your business lost access to a commercial space (owned, leased, or sub-leased) as a direct result of the 2024 wildfire within Jasper National Park.
Once you’ve secured a new permanent commercial location, your eligibility for the Interim Industrial Park ends.
Previous location in the storage & services district (S‑Block)
Your business previously operated in the Storage & Services District, also known locally as “S-Block”.
This area is located near Hazel Avenue and Sleepy Hollow Road—generally used for trades, contractors, equipment storage, and related services.
If you’re unsure whether your former location qualifies, please reach out—we’re happy to help.
Compatible use & site safety
Your business operations must be compatible with the site’s temporary infrastructure and meet safety and land-use requirements. Please contact us for any questions about this
Recognizing the complexity of wildfire recovery, the Municipality of Jasper is committed to a fair and human‑centered approach. Exceptions may be considered on a case‑by‑case basis for businesses that align with the project’s core purpose, supporting businesses that lost access to commercial space due to the wildfire, and that are taking practical or innovative steps to remain operational during the rebuild phase. All exceptions will be assessed transparently and in alignment with recovery objectives, land‑use limitations, and site safety requirements.
