On the evening of July 22, 2024, the news we all feared became a reality: an evacuation order was issued for Jasper. We continue to recognize the deep grief and loss our community has experienced as we mourn homes, businesses, and a landscape forever changed by the wildfire. 

Yet, amidst this grief, our community has risen to meet the challenge. We have witnessed an extraordinary coming together of neighbours, countless acts of kindness, and an outpouring of support from people near and far. We are deeply grateful for the dedication of emergency personnel and the assistance from the federal and provincial governments.

As our community navigates the grieving and healing process, we have made significant progress in our recovery efforts, and together, we move forward with hope and resilience.
